Teacher strike (October)

Teachers from public schools are on strike because they are asking for the historical debt. Teachers are waiting that the government pay this debt completely since the military government when teachers were changed to the public system so most of them were not paid therefore these teacher are asking for their money.
I think the strike it’s ok because the reason of this strike is fair. Teachers are asking something that belong to them, otherwise if they are teacher, they must think about their students. Students need teacher, especially who are in fourth grade of high school, they need to be prepared to the end of the year to take the PSU. Teachers are putting the future of student at risk if they don’t do lesson at school.
I hope this strike finishes soon, because student can’t be losing more lesson, they really need it, as I said before students who are in fourth grade of high school.

Adolescent pregnancy by me

It was the last presentation. Choose my topic was very hard. I didn´t know about what do my presentation, i had no ideas because for me all the topic was did. I didn´t realize that there was a topic very important; the adolescent pregnancy.

As I mentioned in my presentation, this is a global problem, the worst is it´s increasing.

In our country a 15% of the pregnant are adolescent and most of them don´t continue studying after the pregnant.

We as teacher can´t avoid it but we can help to prevent. We can do lesson of sexual education which we teach methods of conceptive, myths about the pregnancy, etc.

In the case that we have pregnant students we can provide support because we don´tn know if those students have the support from their parents so they fell sad and think it was the end of their life.

We have to remember that in Chile we have a law to protect pregnant students. School have to RESPECT IT!

We must think about it and be prepared to deal with this problem!

Subcultures by Juan Pablo S.

This presentation was almolst the last one but not less important.

Pablo presented about different subcultures that we have in our country. He showed us three styles: "emo", "gothic" and "pokemón". In his presentation, he showed us the clothes that their use, the music and what is the vision of the life according to them.

It was an interesting topic and presentation with many pictures but his presentation was not a microlesson because we didn´t participate, he didn´t ask us anything. Also, he didn´t link the topic with the education in spite of we can do it mentally by ourselves that was his job.

Pablo expresses his ideas excellent, I love how he can speak fluency it demonstrate that he known the topic perfectly.

For us was a useful and helpful topic to schools. If we know these kind of styles we can understand better the behavour of students.

The friendship by Marìa “bubble” Teresa Buch!

I wasn’t there because I was in my public lesson. Anyway, Teresa sent me her presentation.
I remember she didn’t know about what does her presentation. We thought over and over but we still thinking about nothing!
Suddenly she thought about our friendship and it was her topic!
The importance of this topic at school is very important and useful because nowadays students show less love between them. They seem to be people who hate everything and they don’t care about nothing. It is sad so we as teacher, we must promote friendship in the classroom. Teresa gave some tips to do it.
This topic is always presents at schools, we have to put it in practice.

We must be grateful for the friendship, it the best feeling in the world!

Sport in Education by Juan González

He did a DEBATE not a microlesson, so...

Juan divided the class in two groups: one against and one pro.

He mentioned these aspect to consider:

- Sport as a waste of time.

- Time availability.

- Effects on academic succress.

- Heplful example from other countries.

I have to say that the topic was very interesting but "the presentation" was a debate instead a microlesson, so we had to do all his job, we participated every time and he just said the aspects.

At the end of his debate, he didn`t close it and he said just thanks for the participation without a summary .

Actually, I didn`t like his presentation so I don`t want to talk more about it.

Cultural diversity by Mauricio Lillo

He started his presentation showing us a video abput the diversity. After that, he gave us a definition of diversity and Mauricio wanted that everyone of us participate.

It was an importante topic for us, specially at schools because someone could be from another country and students could discriminate her or him. So we must be tolerant and empathetic with people from other countries.

His power point had too much information in a slide. Also, he did that one person read a long paragraph having problem to read some words.

I disagree with Camilo, he said that the presentation had too much videos but I think the presentation with videos was more entertainment because keed our attention(keep the eyetouch).

Good points: He used the space of the classroom besides his tone of voice was perfect, everybody heard him and he created a nice atmosphere.

Stress in students by Yhincy!

She started with a question: Why do students get stressed?

she mentioned and explain three factors:

- The change they are submitted.

- The end of the school year.

- The decision about vocation and couple.

After, Yhincy gave us a definition of stress and characteristic of stressful students.

After that, shesaid the symtoms and sign of stress; there are four types: emotional, mental, conductual and physical.

Then, the most important: How can teachers support their students?

- Emotional support: being empathetic.

- Informative support: giving information to the students that facilitates him/her resolve the problem.

- Evaluative support: giving information that can be helpful for the students to do self-examination.

Finally, questions to think about.

I think Yhincy engaged us completely with her presentation because she keep our attention doing questions every time. she wanted that every classmates participate and she motived us to do it.

She had some mistakes in her power point, i remember about one of those, it was a huge mistake, she forgot to put an auxiliar in a question.

The only thing that i didn`t like was her power point, it was too dull; if i`m not wrong, i saw just a picture in her presentation and all was words. In spite of that she did a great job. She used a right tone of voice, she moved around the classroom and she used the space very good.
